Letter from the MaestroDear Band,I was so proud of our bands concert last night at Trinity Village. I thought that we had a really nice sound and played the music pretty well. In fact there were several times that I thought you all were really stylisticly clicking together. I appreciate you all making a special effort to attend and
have your music prepared. There are a few people that
I need to recognize that made an extra effort to help make
it all happen: Again, I am so proud of your hard work and look forward to hearing more great music from you. Sincerely, Lewis' Band BuzzOn behalf of the Pine Bluff Community Band, I want to congratulate the Watson Chapel Junior High and Senior High Bands for making "straight ones" at contest this week! All of their scores were "superior" on stage and in the sight reading room!"Mr. Wim" and "Mr. H" are doing a fine job of teaching the skills of playing a wind band instrument . . . to a great group of students! Sweepstakes will be awarded since superior ratings were earned both in marching band and concert contests. ENJOY the bliss, Mr. Wim . . . especially while you celebrate in Branson over spring break! PINES MALL CONCERTOur next concert is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at The Pines Mall in Cafe Court. I had a very nice conversation with the new mall manager, Mr. Scott Green. He is a 85' graduate of White Hall High School . . . and had Bud Childers as his band director! He still has his trombone . . . and I'm talking to him about getting in band with us! The mall is functioning with new ownership and management . . . . and Mr. Green is thrilled to have us coming on April 7th. A huge grand opening for Jack & Jill is happening the same day from 11 - 1 . . . so he wanted us to be ready to play at 1 in cafe court to extend the celebration! He's really hoping for a big day that day . . . . and if we all do our best to make this concert a success . . . we will have done our part in making this day great! PLEASE, make sure you can attend and play on that Saturday, April 7th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. We will advertise in the local papers and cable stations . . . but we need you as a band member to "talk it up!" Mr. Green already wants us during Christmas . . . . so we need to "put on a show" for everybody! HA! UAM BANDS PERFORMEDThe UAM Concert and Symphonic Bands played a great concert this past Tuesday evening. What a great job from both bands! We have students from these groups play with us from time to time and they are always top shelf! All three of their jazz bands are scheduled for a concert on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:30 PM. If you want to go . . . sign up on the list this coming week at rehearsal! MAUNDY THURSDAYMaundy Thursday is scheduled for April 5. We are planning to have rehearsal that evening IF we don't have alot of our players out! PLEASE let Mr. Williams know if you can't make it because of this conflict. Thanks! |
